In many depictions the Gods are seen as carrying and Ankh in one hand, representing power and divine rule. In some drawings the Gods are seen to be giving Pharaoh's an Ankh, as a symbol of Divinity being pass on and the Pharaoh's being considered divine by the Gods.
 
Some sources say this is also a symbolic of their Power to sustain life and revive souls in the afterlife.
